My niece asked me if she was allowed to have the Cheese Nachos that she probably isn't allowed to have because I was the only adult in the house and therefore in possession of casting vote on such things.
I told her of course she can have the cheese nachos. You're sick, you can have anything you want.
She said "Ahhhhhhhh. World domination is mine!"
And then I explained to her that coles only half fill the corn chip packets because they are taking extra special care so they didn't break. We aren't being gypped at all. It's just a sign of how much they love us.

Oh god! it's March Already
lots of birthdays this month and a notable death day - dear beloved Mr Pratchett - have been rolling about like a cat in catnip in an orgy of rereading disc world novels of late - finishing off snuff for the fifty thousand something time - remember the first time i read a terry pratchet novel - colour of magic - i was cold and sick and depressed at the time - remember rolling around on the floor laughing that the main character had just fallen of the edge of the world to what could only be certain death at the end of the book - never got quite so upset about stuff after that - i felt like a had a better handle on perspective - cheers terry
went to a book signing in sydney - figured i would be gone for about an hour - however three hours later i finally got to the head of the line and was in too much pain from standing around on street corners to be coherent - he was perfectly happy to chat but sadly i was not up for it - longest queue at a book signing i have every seen - people i worked for were rather worried by my disappearance
my eldest niece has started university and is slogging away at the required number of driving hours towards her licence
my youngest niece has started prep
i resemble something like a beached whale at the moment
my sofa bed seems to suck all the energy out of my posterior
leaving me like limp overcooked spaghetti
brotherinlaws birthday today and champagne and margaritas of many colours have been consumed with a willing heart and a sated belly - mmmmmm nachos mmmmmmmmmm

If you write it it will happen
Slightly closer to being online again.
Well, more than slightly.
Perhaps more just slightly off being online again?
Best friend gave me her old computer.
Windows drivers downloaded (whatever they are)
Just need to go get a new sim for the donglethingywhatever since it has been so long since I used it.
Cutest little black cat lurking around my flat. Massive testicles for such a little kitty. Belongs to someone, cause has a collar. Vague teasing thoughts of accidentally on purpose letting my unfixed girl cat out so I could have lots of little black kittens like in the nightmare I had on Monday are kicking about in the back of my mind, but I assure you I am resisting! It is my goal to get Wombat-cat desexed before Christmas.
My beautiful Bubba-cat, who would have been 17 come January as far as I am aware, disappeared never to be found mid-July and I have been very sad. I have at least stopped crying every time I come home because he isn't running down the driveway to herd me into the carport. He was looking very frail and was deaf and senile and it would have been his time soon, but I so wanted a body. I had intended to have him cremated and carry his remains around it a little pottery jar whenever I moved house. (I inherited the ashes of one of the family cats "Russell". Mum used to have them, but then she moved and was downsizing belongings and ditched him on my older sister, who had originally owned him until mum stole him. Marianne didn't really want them, but didn't want to chuck them out, so I took them. He was a great cat)
So ... i am down to five cats now.
The ever beautiful, wonderful and delightful Augie March have at last put together a new album which should be out soon and I am waiting with bated breath to hear. October October October come soon :)
Have failed dismally to save up, argh, it is karma that I have no travel money and shall have to slap myself about until I get my brain functioning again.
Have mostly been sleeping for the last year or so, so it will be good for me to blog again. I do more when I have interests. Am doing up the atrium at work and will post photos when I finish. Not that it will be anything earthshatteringly interesting, but have vague intentions of making some little monsters/creatures out of modeling clay, weatherproofing them with boat sealant and having them peek out from under plants. A project for next year. Have never made anything before and will probably be terrible at at. I have never been good with my hands.
ciao

Boxing Day
One cider down and a glass of rose in hand
Parent busy in sister's kitchen
Frozen prawns defrosted
Bowls of water with lemon to rinse hands
Salad
Don't eat seafood myself
Probably should eat something
Base for the booze
Didn't buy a wading pool this year to dangle feet into whilst sitting on verandah
Beautiful sunny day
Light breeze
Humidity not too much above 50 percent, I don't think
Saw a flock of black cockatoo grazing on the ground in the park this morning
Sister's cat curled up in her underwear drawer and resisting relocation with fang and claw
Cricket on telly
Leftover ham from yesterday perhaps?
Snow would be weird
Suppose could fill bucket with water for feet?
Fresh passionfruit from the vine
Don't like passionfruit either
Nor mango
Crates of them on the verandah
Rose goes down rather fast
Ibis flapping around skin from yesterdays ham
stolen from compost heap
like dog playing tug-of-war
trying to break off a piece
hahahahahahaha if only you could see this
15/1/14 - Yo Alex, Still haven't replaced my computer, see :) Leading a strange womb like existence. Scooter fixed, but not successfully. Going back in again on 24th. This weird public access computer does not let me comment on my own blog? lol

Argh
Cat knocked glass of wine over onto laptop and died it.
Pretty blonde woman backed into scooter and crushed front bit. Scooter has been in shop for last week.
Last night I appear to have walked in my sleep and for some reason taken inside tabby cat outside and outside tabby cat inside, and thus causing lingering trauma to black inside kitty who did not understand why tabby cat was suddenly hissing and spitting and growling at her all night when previously she had gotten on so well with a tabby cat.
Black inside cat is now hissing and growling at returned inside tabby cat and also holding me responsible and hissing and spitting and slashing at me whenever I come near her.
2013 is a strange year so far.
I am rereading Perfect Skin by Nick Earls and rediscovering how much I like it and belly-laughing out loud on public transport again, which is something only he has ever made me do
14/3/13 - Shopping Centre computer not letting me make comments.
ZigZag Street is funniest. Not hurt. Just surprised, and late and inept at finding horn on scooter because I've never used it.

Ride through the Park

| This is actually at my sisters house, where I ended up after my ride. |
And of course, whilst on the ride through the park before work I discovered my scooter was dripping fuel from underneath and I am without transport for the next week and a half or so. I have my fingers crossed that it won't be expensive to fix.
*shakes fist at 2013 and mutters bastard*

January 2013
things are quiet
the usual post-christmas tensions nibble away at my tentative, timid new year optimism
short haircut lovely, but terribly similar to mothers
heat and humidity sap good intentions and resolve to indulge in domestic godesstry is overturned with a swap to the other side of the pillow and a sleep in till eleven
i would feel better for raisin toast, but it is so hard not to order eggs benedict
everything is green and lush and some afternoons I scooter through the park before work
i pass flocks of red tailed black cockatoos grazing and magpie geese bathing in puddles
a wash of green and pink lotus flowers cover the ponds
there used to be a small animal enclosure here with kangaroos and wallabies and emus and birds but now i can't quite remember which spot where it was situated
i am tired and melancholy and rereading old familiar favourites and watching already seen dvds again and again and when i drift into daydream i imagine sad things happening
i have planted seeds in the garden
warm summer rain soaked my shoes
the breeze after dried off my shirt as i sipped coffee at the cafe
it stopped raining as soon as i bought an umbrella
(the spell check is suggesting "destroyer" as an alternative to "goddestry" - lol - like, dude, stop with the negatives waves man)
