I have no spine
or perhaps too electic a humour, ey?
his friend from work
an older man sixties or seventies
tipsy
settled beside me when he was gone and said
"my friend likes you"
all singsong
in a knowing teasing way
childlike gleeful
and waited for a response
I said, "I can tell"
*sigh*
he's a christmas nut
dressed up in short santa suit with gifts
because his dad used to always do that every year
i had not the heart to decline carols
it is totally not my kind of thing
That poem is totally my kind of thing.
ReplyDeletei am all carolled out, the poor man - i am reserved when sober and difficult to talk to - awkward evening
