with all due respect, sir
don't smoke around me
and the tailor is hard at work
make sure things fit
Chelsey old age pensioners
he saved my life, that Jimmy Townsend
but he don't remember
Wow! That is my favourite poem of yours so far. It is fantastic. Seriously, that poem could go in a literary magazine for sure.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the ABC a godsend. That last line was word for word - beautiful show about an english island vicarage that seemed to morph into a show about an english old peoples home for retired soliders.
ReplyDeleteThere was an awesome scene of a man being fitted with a uniform, that involved a tricorn and he was remarking on how old-fashioned it was.
There was another solider there, who by his actions saved his live, but he didn't remember him; and the other old gentleman was trying to make sure it was the right person, with written evidence to back it up, to tell him how the thing he had done. I wanted to cry :)
